I had the honour to be invited and received a scholarship to attend and
give a talk at the yearly edition of the State Of The Map
US conference in beautiful San Francisco. A
great community, with engaging and inspiring individuals and a very well
organised conference — it was altogether a superb experience. It
is remarkable that OpenStreetMap is a
community project at such an exciting inflection point. A great deal of
innovation can be observed. The atmosphere of people genuinely enjoying
their work is ever-present, and many start-ups and larger companies are
discovering business models built on Open Geo Data.
So far there has been good feedback and great input for my talk and the project of mapping Nicaragua:
