Women rights organizations in Nicaragua publish anual data about violence based on gender and against women. And they wanted to use the internet to make this data available to organizations, researchers, decision takers and journalists. And they also want to encourage people to report cases of violence against women online.
Felix Delattre lead the project and coordinated a team of designers, data scientists and developers to create an online tool, which allows women rights organizations in Nicaragua to publish information about femicides, maternal deaths, sexual violence and other violences as Open Data.
Maps are used for visualization and the whole data set cab easily be inspected based on a variety of indicators.
The raw data (eventually anonymized) is downloadable and published under an open license (Creative Commons).
